Intelligent buildings and intelligent community is developing rapidly,the proportion of electronic appliances load increases, and even thecontinuous development of industrial electrical equipment updated,leading to increasingly serious harmonic pollution, people power qualityrequirements are growing. Extensive use of non-linear loads in the powersupply system to the grid injected a large number of non-sinusoidalcurrent, resulting in a serious distortion of the grid power and currentwaveforms, all the harmonics generated on the system’s security ofelectricity supply and quality of power supply caused serious hazards.Active power filter, whether it is in the actual application, or the study ofthe theory have made rapid development, the main reason is the activepower filter has good compensation effect and relatively fast dynamicresponse speed. In this paper, an FPGA-based Active Power Filter (becalled for short: APF) system architecture application.The APF framework includes the choice of the central processor, therapid processing method of the current signal, filtering the currentwaveform, the compensation signal generation and the compensationsignal control IGBT capacitor switching, to achieve suppression ofharmonic current components of the nonlinear load purposes. The aboveaspects of the analysis, part of the grid voltage and current distortion,made the analysis of the power circuit compensation current componentcan be used in order to achieve the purpose of harmonic eliminationcontrol strategy, which part of the component flows into the grid, it ispossible to largely reduce the harmonics. And the FPGA chip in the APF,do further exploration, gives the system structure and programming tocomplete its function in the APF.By ModelSim and Matlab software simulation, FPGA chip signalprocessing and signal processing accuracy were analyzed furtherillustrates the feasibility of such applications.
