Pulsed power system is a technology for researching generator, transmission and application of high-voltage, strong-current, high-power pulse. With the development and in industrial and scientific fields, various aspects of capacitive pulsed power supply such as energy storage density, repetition rate and the diversification control means have developed rapidly, the research on pulsed capacitive energy-stored generator is studied in this paper.Firstly, in order to analyze the influencing factor to pulsed capacitive energy-stored generator, the basic principle is introduced, and the circuit model is setup. Meanwhile, numerical calculation and circuit simulation is performed for the discharge circuit. To prevent the capacitor being recharged by a reverse voltage, a crowbar circuit, which consists of diode-stacks connected in series, is studied mainly. Besides, surge current and voltage also influence on discharge circuit.A semiconductor switch device named RSD(Reversely Switched Dynistor) is a pulsed power device which has characteristics of high forward-blocked voltage, great peak current, high di/dt, fast switched time, long lifetime and high repetitive rate etc. So, there lies an extensive application prospectives for such device used in pulsed power system.On the principle of RLC pulsed generator, this paper investigates a pulsed discharge main circuit in which RSD served as the switch. Magnetic switch is introduced as the isolator between the main and trigger circuits for the request of pre-charge upon RSD. According to trading-off between magnetic switch saturation time and inductance, the way to choose magnetic material is discussed, and we also analyze the distributed inductance and capacitance and give the way to calculate and reduce them.At last, the flow of RSD pulse generator design is presented, and a design example of high power pulse output is presented.
