This research is supported by abundant field test on TD-SCDMA trial network, especially the network which serving for highway and high-speed railway. It focus on the functionality and performance verification of TD-SCDMA system in high speed environment, and the research on TD-SCDMA radio network design and performance improvement strategy in these kinds of area.TD-SCDMA is a domestic developed 3G specification which accepted by the world. TD-SCDMA network equipments are now being widely deployed in China, and being accepted the investigation trial. TD-SCDMA is about to step into commercial phase to face the final subscribers’ verification directly. TD-SCDMA comprises lots of new technologies and structures which are dramatically different from GSM or WCDMA systems, especially in its radio network segment. So the research of the radio network design and performance improvement on this new type of system is valuable.The traffic of highway and high-speed railway is now becoming more and more important for this rapidly developing country. Up to now, domestic total highway mileage of China stands on the second place of the world. Meanwhile, these years the railway of China has finished its 6th significant speed-up. The railway mileage as well as the speed of the passenger trains is growing rapidly. Consequently, the TD-SCDMA radio network design and improvement which focus on these high speed environments is necessary and indispensable.This thesis studies the special instance of TD-SCDMA over high speed environment such as highway and railway. According to schedule, theory analysis, lab simulation and a three-month field test have been done to investigate the TD-SCDMA system’s performance in these environments, and to research its radio network design and performance improvement strategies.
