Tier C / S, The Hospital Information System-based Design

It is an inevitable choice to establish the hospital information system and to promote the digital hospital in the era of the knowledge-based economy. It is the requirement of the modernization of the hospital management. The hospital information system will promote the modernization of the hospital, improve the quality of the medical service, the efficiency of the medical service and the economic benefit of the hospital, and enhance the competitive edge of the hospital. At the same time, it will change people's concept of time and space, and create conditions for the global exchange of information and the share of information resources.The hospital information system is the essential infrastructure and the technical support system of the modern hospital. It improves the operating efficiency of the whole system through tracking and managing the information caused by the population migration and logistics like the other management information systems. And it supports the medical services, teaching, and research which are based on the records of the patients' medical information.This thesis discusses design and implementation of the HIS based on the 3-tier C/S. First, it makes a detailed introduction to the background of its development and the overall plan and design. And it analyzes the existing HIS and points out its problems. Secondly, it introduces the relative component technology, and puts forward a solution based on Windows DNA 3-tier architecture, which solves the technical problems of the HIS. Thirdly, it makes a detailed plan to develop and build the HIS from the whole system establishment, the system requirements, the design of the database, and the distinctions of the functional modularity of the database. Finally, Based on the system design blueprint, policlinic registration system is implemented gradually. Many related key techniques such as component-based method are also referred to. The implementation details and important source codes in every tier of the registration sub-system are given.
