Embedded Linux-based Iptv Set-top Box Design And Realization

With the accelerated development of computer networks, the development of IPTV increasingly became the focus of attention of the industry. It can configure many kinds of multimedia services function according to the user's choice, including digital television program, visible IP telephone, internet browsing as well as many kinds of entertainment and commercial function. They can be sent away from the operation platform to a customer via TV terminal with STB module.In this paper the system will use the AMD AU1200 to build the hardware system and use the kernel 2.4 as the operation system, gcc as the compiler and toolchain as the tool to develop the software system.In this paper, after analyzing the basic definition of IPTV set-top box and its present situation home and abroad, we summarized the IPTV set-top box's service requirements. By studying the service demands as well as the correlative documents of IPTV set-top box, we decided the software and hardware environment. On the basis of layered model, software part mainly gave the program thoughts and procedure realization flow of mainframe.In the end, the test is made, and the conclusion is summarized.
