Study. Based On Jetspeed2 Enterprise Information Portal Application

Now the enterprise informationization is one of the most important elements to a successful enterprise, more and more enterprises have realized this, and invested a large amount of money in enterprise information project. But when many enterprises have owned a large number of informationization systems, a lot of problems have appeared, such as it was hard to share the information of each system, hard to manage a large amount of enterprise's information. When enterprises need something to deal with the problems.EIP appears and becomes one of the best choices for the desires of those enterprises. EIP can be used effectively to aggregate the large number of information, enhance the information share capability, reduce the information island problem.The famouse EIP technology include EIP products that are supplied by most famouse software enterprises like IBM, Oracle and also include EIP openSource frames that are supplied by some openSource research organizations. Those EIP products have many advanced features and can effectively cooperate with other products of their software enterprise, so the EIP product is the best choice for the rich enterprises to implement their EIP projects.But the EIP product is too expensive to the large number of enterprises without enough money, they need a choice with a proper price,enough advanced functions and effectively cooperate with other software components.The EIP opensource is their best choice.But the EIP opensource frame is designed for researching EIP technology and can't be used to implement the project directly,how to use it into the EIP project is the most important problem for those enterprises. So this dissertation focus on how to use jetspeed2 to implement the EIP project, the main research tasks include:1. Analyse and research the Portal and Portlet technology about the theory, architecture, operation system and other aspects of the plan in detail.Especially introduce the relationship between Servlet and Portlet, lifecycle of Portlet, this introducation can help EIP developer to realize the core technology of EIP.2. According to the EPoS project's actual requirement, design the model of the EPoS system.3. Analyse and research the basis of the jetspeed2's principle and structure, use or partly improve the functions (individuation layout designing, security manager, context manager, etc) of Jetspeed2 EIP frame to develop the EPoS system.4. Introduce the process of developing the JSR-168 Portlets application of EPoS, and also introduce solution of the problems in this process, especially present a solution of asynchronous communication process for the problem of traditional communication between the Portlets.
