Solid state microwave and millimeter wave multipliers are critical components in contemporary electronic system. Their working performances will affect the whole working performances of the electronic system. In this paper we elaborately study the research subject"Q-band forth multiplier and U-band doule channels forth multiplier".During the developing of the Q-band forth multiplier, we make out a basic scheme"input-microwave band doubler-amplifier-millimeter wave band doubler-amplifier- amplifier-ouput"for it according to the requested indicators. Then the passive milimeterwave band frequency (33-50GHz) doubler employing planar balanced circuit structure and Schottky diodes is developed. Firstly, we analye various balanced circuit structures to make foundation for the millimeter wave band doubler. Then we do simulations and analysis on the doubler circuits by using simulation software HFSS and CST, etc. By using the software, we avoid the hand debuging inconvenience. It saves us a lot of developing and debugging time and cost.In the chapter two, we introduce fin line structure microstrip-to-waveguide transition and design passive doubler using balanced circuit formal and waveguide-to-microstrip adapter. This makes foundation for the Q band forth multiplier.In the chapter three, we introduce the design and testing method of the whole forth multiplier circuit. The development of the microstrip broad-band bandpass filter is difficult during the design.Then we introduce U-band dot frequency forth multiplier. It includes the development of divider and the narrow-band filter, the choice of MIC (monolithic integrated circuit), the design of biasing circuit, the design and test of the whole circuit. This U-band doule channels forth multiplier is a component used in U-band T-R system. And the scheme is"input-active doubler-filter-divider-active doubler-filter-amplifier- ouput". We test it and the results show that it can serve the U-band T-R system perfectly.
