Optical Bistability(OB) is latest optical topic about studying steady state and dynamic state actions of nonlinear optics system which have feedback property. Optical Bistability Device (OBD) has excellence characteristics such as processing light signal directly, short time of on-off, parallel disposing signals. It has a potential application for high-speed fiber communication, light storage, high-speed optical switch, processing of optical information and stabilization of laser power and sensor of OB. So, in-depth researching of optical bistability effects has very important significance.In this paper, non-coherent Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) broad band light source were applied as the source of OBD,tunable Fiber Fabry-Perot (FFP) filter was used as wavelength choose device. In this paper, a new type hybrid optical bistable device(OBD) by the use of optical fiber coupler is proposed. By using of ASE and scanning Fiber Fabry-Perot (FFP) Filter in this experiment, I get the output light which can continue change in the frequency domain in the range of 1525 nm-1565 nm and I use optical fiber coupler as optical bistable system's modulator. When the light which can continue change in the frequency domain incidence to optical fiber coupler, I get the modulate curve about optical fiber coupler's transmittivity. Sampling from transmitted light and changing the optical signal to voltage signal as feedback voltage add to FFP, the experimental phenomenon is produced. Via fixing the voltage which add to FFP and changing the input of optical fiber coupler and via fixing the input of optical fiber coupler and changing the voltage which add to FFP realize optical bistability respectively. According to the optical bistabable theory, the experimental phenomenon is systematically discussed and imitated theoretically. Through test, the result of the experiment suit the theoretical imitations.
