Optical Bistability(OB) is an important nonlinear optical phenomena. It has an important application prospects in all-optical telecommunications, optical information processing and laser power stabilizer. While Optical Bistable Device has wide applications in the optical detection, optical switches, optical logic gates, optical storage, optical computers .Therefore, It becomes one of the hot research fields in photonics. This paper presents a new electro-optic hybrid frequency domain optical bistable device, which is achieved by a fiber Michelson Interferometer (MI).When working in stable region, it can be used for laser power stabilizer; When working in Switches region, it can be used for optical switches, optical router. We also can use the characteristics of fiber MI for optical fiber sensor, achieving the measurements of certain weak physics. In the experiments, using Fiber Fabry-Perot (FFP) filter to scan Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) source, we get continuous modulation of light output, which is in the bandwidth of 1525nm-1565nm 40nm.Using optical fiber MI bistable system as a modulator, When putting the continuous adjustable light into fiber MI, we get modula table curve about the modulation rate of fiber MI; at the same time sampling from the transmitted light, The light intensity will be converted into voltage signals to add to the FFP as a feedback signal voltage. The experimental phenomenon is produced Via fixing the voltage which add to FFP and changing the input of MI and via fixing the input of MI and changing the voltage which add to FFP realize optical bistability respectively. According to the optical bistable theory, the experimental phenomenon is systematically discussed and imitated theoretically.
