Optical Bistability(OB) is an important nonlinear optical phenomena in physicalelectronics domain. Optical bistability has significant applications in optical fibersensing technology, laser power stability and optical computer. So, it has potentialapplications in the development of the future.In this paper, we utilize nonlinear characteristics of FBG reflection spectrum torealize fiber Bragg grating optical bistable, and design the feedback system based onFBG as the modulator. It makes the optical bistability operation high-speed, stable andaccurate.First, we use ATmega128single-chip microcomputer of AVR to control theexternal gain control resistance of the amplifier AD620and the standard voltage sourceTLV431in the feedback loop. Thus, we can realize that the gain of amplifier and thebias voltage can be adjusted continuously. Second, we achieve the fiber Bragg gratingoptical bistable through three methods and simulate the experimental phenomena.According to the experimental phenomena, we analysis it detailed. In the end, we expectthe application prospects of sensor network based on fiber Bragg grating opticalbistable.
