| OLAP is short for Online Analytical Processing.In recent years,this technology is the keystone and hotspot in database domain.It was brought forward by E.F.Codd in 1993, who was the father of the relational database.OLAP becomes an important tool on decision support system.It can provide fast,alternating and on-line query for decision.After more than ten years of its development,OLAP has been implemented as the "fat-client" mode. Then the virtual "thin-client" mode was conceived.But even the virtual thin-client mode can not avoid the disadvantages of the "fat-client" mode.Therefore,the research based on B/S architecture OLAP system became a hotspot.Otherwise,most of the existing OLAP systems aim at the vast data and the OLAP system is built on data warehouse.But there aren't large quantizes of data in the applications of small or medium-sized,and the users are more concerned about the real time quality.Maybe there are no OLAP servers in some applications,but they also need OLAP.In order to solve these problems above,and combine with the project named "Scientific Instrument Shared Service Platform of Yunnan",a design of a light-weighted OLAP system based on pure B/S architecture is conceived in this article.And this system used Multidimensional analytic technique to build star schema,used XML files to build unit data cube.The method provided that the data should go through establishing materialized view and transaction database.The user's analytic request is submited to the database through the SQL creater,the result set returned from the database can be rebuilt before it passes to the JasperReports.JaserReports report engine is used to implement data visualization.This system has many data source interfaces,and it can materialize the data cube by custom interval.This system solved the OLAP requirement of small or medium-sized enterprise.This assistant decision-making is positive to the development of the enterprise,and it laid a good foundation for the further study. |
