This paper takes the cover stories of Outlook Weekly and Time, which are news weeklies in China and America, as the research target. With content analysis by quantitive research method, the paper concludes some features of both magazines from different angles. Then, the concept of media environment is introduced into the paper. It deals with the different audience environment, system and policy environment as well as industry environment in China and America. The research aims to discover gap and provide suggestions for turning Outlook Weekly into a dominant news weekly with distinctive Chinese characteristics. |
