There are great requirement for high performance and low cost video systems in thefield of industry, military and aerospace. Comared with CCD, CMOS imaging sensor(CIS) has advantages on integration, complex, power, cost and develop cycle. So it isvery important to obtain kernel technology by researching high performance CMOSimaging video system to meet the requirement.This thesis presents the history, features and the cardinal principles of CIS. Thecomparisons between CIS and CCD are also introduced. The image sensorIBIS5-A-1300 of CYPRESS is analyzed and image system is designed based on thisimage sensor. Complex program logic device (CPLD) has been chosen as thehardware design platform, driving schedule generator has been described with VHDL.This system realized rolling shutter and synchronous shutter, and multiple slopeintegration is finished. Sub-sample and ROI has been developed. The different modecan be controlled by key-press convenience. As of hardware design, the imaging partand the controlling part are separated, four layers of PCB and the stable supplyvoltage outputted by Low Dropout regulators are applied to this system. At last, thethesis indicates the deficiencies in the system and how to improve its performance.Experiments show that the system works stably and has low power dissipation. Theimages captured by this system have good effects.
