The rectifier loop is an important part of the LIA transport system. The current regulator, which give the power supply to the rectifier loops, determine whether the rectifier loop works well. With improving of the accelerator, the rectifier loop need to give more power and higher efficiency. Accordingly, it requires the current regulator to be improved. Based on the power supply request of LIA rectifier loop and the trend of electron elements' evolution, the designs of current regulator with operational amplifiers are given in this article. The research on theory and experiment is pointed out also.The article presents two kinds of voltage controlled current regulator-load floating model and grounded load model based on the constant current theory, as well as the engineering application and the characteristic of the chosen operational amplifier. The current output responding to the step, linear, sin/cos signals were calculated, and the feasibility of the circuit was analyzed. The result agreed to the PSpice simulation. In the aspect of experiments, the power source PCB board, load floating and grounded load VCCS PCB were made. The output capability, instantaneous output respondent, output linearity of the current regulators were measured. The results show that the load floating model is tally with the calculation and simulation. It can be used in engineering. The performance of grounded load model is different with the design because of the circuit matching, work points, etc.The parallel connection circuit design is also presented in this article. Several designs are capable of giving the double output current in the PSpice simulation. We got the most efficient one among all the experiment circuits. It can provide double current output in the same input voltage and power supply of single operation amplifier. The experiment results are agreed with our expectation, and it is proved that parallel design is a way to expand the current output capability.The current regulator made of the operational amplifiers are analyzed and demonstrated in detail in this article. The experiment results with this kind of regulator are presented also. The achievements of this research will provide a technical preparation for future engineering applications.
