Basic materials about the Journal of Jiangsu are collected in the article toexplore and discuss the formation background of the journal and several stages whichinclude the stage of birth of the journal (from No.1 to No.3, namely, from April 27,1903 to June 25, 1903),the stage of development (from No.4 to No.7,namely, from June25,1903 to October 20,1903) and the stage of stopping publishing(from No.8 toNo.12,namely, from January 17,1904 to May 15,1904).This article tries to acquire acomprehensive knowledge of the journal by way of analysis from several aspects suchas its basic situation,main content, special features, fundamental tendency, majorreasons of development, change of purposes and the factors of stopping publishing.Meanwhile, the special features of the journal are grasped entirely and the natureof the journal has been assessed and adjudged as a comprehensive journal withcharacteristics of bourgeois revolution by way of analyzing the statistic of the journal,the persons editing and writing for the journal, the situation of sale, the readers of thejournal and the situation of printing and binding. In addition, the function of the journalhas been evaluated objectively to make it clear that it had positive role and historicallimitations as well. consequently, a final conclusion is drawn that the Journal of Jiangsuwas definitely a great milestone in the history of newspaper and journal of bourgeoisrevolution during the Xinhai Revolution. At the same time the Journal of Jiangsu hasbeen analyzed and expounded from two aspects such as the ideology of setting up andthe development of vocational work. In the end experience and lessons have beensummed up and looking back and looking forward about the journal done as well in thisarticle.
