.7 Signaling Software On The Powerpc Family Of Processors Transplant

Integrated Signaling Analyzer is a multi-link and multi-slot testing analyzer. It has the function of protocol analysis and protocol simulating. It can support No. 7 signaling, A interface, and also supports protocol conformance testing, system performance capability testing and great traffic testing. It is composed of hardware platform and the simulator software.The hardware platform of Integrated Signaling Analyzer bases on good capability communication processor - MPC8260 from Motorola. The hardware platform can be the development platform of various applications basing on No.7 signaling and can run embedded software of protocol analysis, protocol simulation; it is joined with host by Ethernet. The Trillium SS7 commercial software runs on this platform, providing MTP signaling bearer for simulator software. Furthermore, the platform includes circuit switching module, El module and timing module.In order to reduce the system's cost, I transplanted this software from MPC8260 to MPC8250 with the same performance. This paper is composed of seven paragraphs according to the projects. The first paragraph introduces the underground of the project and the architecture of the paper. The second paragraph briefly introduces NO.7 signaling system. The third paragraph mainly introduces the characteristics of VxWorks and the IDE Tornado2.0, mainly about VxWorks BSP. The forth paragraph mainly introduces the architecture and the task management of Trillium SS7 commercial software. The fifth paragraph mainly introduces the architecture of the hardware platform, taking MPC8260 for example to introduce PowerPC architecture and the use method of SS7 microcode, and also compare MPC8250 with MPC8260. The sixth paragraph is important, it introduces the transplantation procedure in detail, mainly about VxWorks BSP and VO task in Trillium SS7 commercial software, at last it introduces the verification of this software system. The seventh paragraph summarizes this project and puts forward some unsolved questions.
