The service test is one of basic work in mobile communication operators which must carry on frequently in the network aspect, such as the network construction, the network maintenance, the service opens, the attention grade of service, the solution user complaint and so on many aspects all tests to the service has the huge demand.The tradition service test was done manually by the human, although works simply, it needs to take many personnel and the transportation time, moreover many carries on in at night, the work fatigue is high, the human resources use factor is low. Using the automated test system to complete automatically, saves the manpower and the physical resource greatly, enhances the labor productivity. The former automated test system as a result of own existence weakness and the insufficiency, cannot satisfy the basic unit network department the big cover, the low cost, the high efficiency, the simple practical need, therefore has not been widely applied. This article absorbed formerly the automated test system the experience, overcame their inherent flaw, the union mobile communication operation business work reality, has formulated the practical and feasible overall goal and the test standard.At present the GSM automated test system may carry on four test functions: the voice call test, the short note test, the GPRS test and the signal cover test. The system hardware is composed by a main control console and many test unit. Each test unit is composed by a handset and a computer. Handset connect the computer through data line. The handset is responsible to transmit, receive short message, carries on each function test. The computer carries on the logical control, the order explanation, carries out at defined time and the generation of short note content. The main control console hardware is the same as the test unit, it's function increased the test duty in the test unit foundation to have custom-made the function and the report generation function. Between all units use the wireless connection completely, so it does not need the transmit line, so there is no region and limit, and easy to realize a willfully point-to-point test. The operation staff only needs to dispose the test unit according to the test quantity and the position, the system dilatancy is convenient.During the system development process, first we defined the test standard , it enable each time test result to have the uniformity, the commeasurability, then has formulated the overall flow and each project test flow which the system software develops, finally used the C++ language programming to realize the software system . In this process, has experienced the feasibility verification phase, the material collection stage, the study stage, the centralism phase of exploitation and the paper compilation stage. During the process, the main technical contents are the serial port programming , the AT order and handset control, the short message processing, result code and result analysis, system internal control, object-oriented C programming. In the article, the solution of each problems and the test record are given.
