Tension control during practical industry production is a system with big time-variance andnon-linear and with the characteristic such as variant parameter and load, violent disturb. Conventionaltension control strategy based on linear model will bring big control error when used in practicalproduction. It is very vital to build optimal tension control model aiming at the characteristic of tensioncontrol and bring forward effective control policy based on no-linear model when solving tensioncontrol problems. With the comprehensive application of tension control in making industry and moreand more acquirement of high-precision tension control system, it is badly required to realizehigh-precision tension control system through novel control unit for many manufactories. Consideringthese factors, the rolling control system model has been researched, the static and dynamic target hasbeen proposed. And the satisfied tension control system model has been demonstrated. Finally, thehardware and the software of the system has been designed and the application of PMAC(programmable multi-axes controller) has been researched.Firstly, the development history, the trend of the tension control system and the commonapproaches of tension control are introduced. Aiming at the proposed performance, the subject bringsforward that the principal axis are controlled and the second is out of the control of the motor andfollows principal axis for the reason of simplification. And it chooses the direct tension control way.The inner is velocity circle and the exterior is tension circle and tension control feedback.Secondly, the hardware design of the tension control system and detailed principle scheme areproposed aiming at the static and dynamic performance target of the system. And the linking schemeof PMAC, servo motor and the tension control system is designed.Thirdly, the subject constructs tension control model and simplify the mathematic model of thesystem. It also researches the mathematic model of constant power load. Finally it educes the formulaof radius in rolling system.Fourthly, The subject regulates the parameters of PID and velocity forward feedback. Byexperiment simulation results, the optimal parameters of PID and velocity forward feedback of thetension control system are gotten.Fifthly, the blocking design ways are applied in the software design of the tension control system.The software design includes the main program, the software initiation, the watching software ofsystem, the calculating model of rolling radius, signal process model and the model of PMAC restrictrange protection.At last, the performance experiments are done in the real tension control system and the realtargets of the performance are gotten. Finally the estimate of it is analyzed according to the results ofthe performance results.
