The equipment of Air Traffic Managemen mainly refers to theequipment of Communication, Navigation Aid and Rador.The request ofits normal operation rate is 99.99%. How to enhance the maintenanceefficiency of the equipment effectively is of major importance, furthermore,how to perform the non- slit movement in the process o f maintaining theequipment is the most important.The Retransmitter and the equipment of AirTraffic Managemen are important for carrying on the planecorrespondence .It is via the Retransmitter that we know the situation ofthe plane's take- off or landing, the dangers, the loading balance as well asthe passenger transportation and the freight transportation. This articleprobed into applying the theory and method of Artificial Intelligence,especially the Expert System, to designing and fulfilling the Expert Systemof Fault Diagnosis in maintaining large-scale DMHS AutomaticRetransmitter.In case the Retransmitter is down, the Fault Diagnosis Expert System ofthe large-scale DMHS Automatic Retransmitter will provide the scenetechnical personnel with specialized breakdown elimination instructions,which will enhance the maintenance efficiency of the equipmenteffectively. The Knowledge Base that was adopted in the process ofdesigning the Fault Diagnosis Expert System of the large-scale DMHS Automatic Retransmitter and the fame of the Inference Engine Design ofSeparating as well as the constitution of the Knowledge Base also providereference for making the Fault Diagnosis Expert System of other equipmentof Air Traffic Managemen.In the process of the knowledge acquisition of the Expert System, anexperienced technical staff ensured a relatively complete knowledge base. Indesigning the deduction system ,we not only applied the knowledge onExpert System to diagnose the faults, but also took other causes into accountthat may result in the failure of input signals by imitating the thoughts ofExpert System, and have mapped out a systematic MAP chart, based onwhich we conducted a full-scale deduction, we applied a heuristicmap-search search strategy as well.
