ABSTRACT:Traffic safety is one of the important goals pursued in railway transportation. Signal devices in the railway station are key facilities which guarantee the traffic safety of the railway. Therefore, it is very important for railway security to ensure that the railway signal devices in station work well without trouble.At present, computer monitoring system for railway signal devices has been widely used in the whole way in China. Real-time monitoring of device status information can be realized, in most of the railway. However, diagnosis is still carried out through manual analysis of the monitoring data. Computer monitoring data are not fully utilized. It is necessary to develop the appropriate support software for intelligent fault diagnosis. In recent years, expert system has been applied in the field of fault diagnosis.This paper focuses on the research of fault diagnosis expert system for ZPW-2000A signal device. Firstly the failure mechanism of ZPW-2000A system is studied, and some common failure modes are summarized. Secondly, the knowledge base of expert systems, human interface, inference engine, dynamic database, knowledge acquisition, and other subsystems of the function modules are studied. Finally, the method of combining expert system and computer monitoring system for railway signal is studied.Based on these studies, the paper has designed the overall structure of the railway signal device fault diagnosis expert system based on a relational database. Knowledge base use production rule. Knowledge base maintenance management module can add and delete knowledge, and test the consistency and integrity of knowledge. Inference engine is based on relational database and forward reasoning. Monitoring data processing module can convert values into symbols. Finally, a complete ZPW-2000A Fault Diagnosis Expert System with a good interactive interface and explanation mechanism is developed.Finally, the feasibility of design ideas is proved by the running results. The fault diagnosis expert system can acquire knowledge of a variety of railway signal devices through knowledge acquisition module. Then it can make an intelligent, real-time, and accurate diagnosis of the railway signal device failures to ensure traffic safety.
