The spread spectrum technology has made great progress with its inherent anti-jamming character. The Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum which is one of the typical spread spectrum technologies has been widely used in the morden wireless communication system. Because it can efficiently reduce the effects of interference, make use of the spectrum and keep secrets in communication system. The M-ray orthogonal spread spectrum technique has developed rapidly in the military application in recent decades. With the high performance in spreading spectrum and transmitting data, this technique shows the potential in reducing signal bandwidth in the front circuit of receiver.Traditional spread spectrum system always relies on hardware deeply. The various wireless communication technologies make the hardware architecture different in the conventional wireless communication platform. Because the conventional wireless communication platform is dependent on the hardware architecture, it is not flexible and extendible. It had been unable to meet the requirements with the development of communication techonology. It is hard for these traditional platforms to be upgraded.With the development of micro-electronics technologies and large scale integrate circuits, the performance of digital signal processors (DSP) is greatly improved. The Software Defined Radio (SDR) has been used more and more widely. The software defined radio can overcome the drawbacks and improve the compatibility of traditional platform. Nowadays, with the great progress on Digital Signal Processing technique and Digital Signal Processor, the collaboration of spread spectrum communication and software defined radio has become inevitable in the field related to communication information system.Firstly, based on the technology of spread spectrum communication system and software defined radio, this thesis introduces background knowledge. Secondly, it discusses data-processing in transfer and receiver. It also introduces the basic architecture of hardware platform. Thirdly, it analyzes two methods that can make the M-ray orthogonal spread spectrum system work consistently. Fourthly, it shows how to realize some specified algorithms in DSP including RS encode and decode. At last, it presents the debugging work of interface on hardware platform.
