As a kind of important modern technology, Image processing has been widely used in following fields such as communication, spaceflight aviation, remote sensing telemetering measurement, biomedicine, military, information safety, etc. The implementation technique of image processing especially high-resolution real-time image processing has far-reaching meanings to the development of relevant fields.The content of this project is mainly focused on the schedule implementated on a high speed and high-resolution image processing system, which is based on PCI bus with FPGA as its core system control part and DM642 as a CPU processor. Here we mainly describe the system scheme of high-resolution image process card on system level. We mainly research the metheds on image acquisition and image enhance, as well as image data inter-communication.In this dissertation,the background is presented at first. Designing an auto-adaptive high resolution image process card is the goal of this project, so I must introduce some basic theory:image enhance theory.The basic form of an image acquisition system is digital signal processor, A/D and D/A converter, and memory. In this dissertation, I compare the FPGA's and DSP's advantage and disadvantage,and discuss the memory such as SDRAM and SRAM.Then the system scheme for video image process card is put forward.The hardware design of image acquisition card includes input and output circuit design,FPGA circuit design and DSP circuit design.The main chips that used in this system is introduced first,and then we focuse on the connection of the circuit.The programme is also very important in my design. This complicated system's programme include FPGA's and DSP's programme.The programme in FPGA contains data acquisition module,SDRAM read and write control module,image process module and system control module.In DSP it includes I2C operation, data transmission between DSP and computer through the PCI interface.The result of the experimentation shows that the system has achieved the goal of real-time video image processing .The card has the capability of image enhancement, image compression and can identify resolution and refresh rate automatically.
