Under such circumstances, if enterprises want to attain prospective economic benefit, and want to raise the utilization rate of resources and advance the enterprises'ability to meet changes and competition, they must have own advantage over products'quantity, function, Time of delivery, price. Etc. To realize all of these, it is indispensable to the advanced management technique. The ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), as a kind of management principle and a software system, syncretize computer information technique with real business operations, provide powerful support for the business to join in the furious market competition.In this paper, I firstly discuss the concept, characteristics, function and development of ERP, then probe into the general process using the software engineering theories to develop ERP, and discuss the necessity of our country's enterprises to develop ERP.The ERP system developments involve in the requirements analysis, the network construction design, the database designs, the system function partition, the system architecture designs, the target system realization and so on various works. This item takes the developments of PANGANG ERP system as an example, inquiring into solution of system developments of steel trade ERP.Because the ERP system is a kind of large enterprise management information system, it includes material purchase management, product sale management, finance management, personal management, quantity management, production control and equipments management and so on many subsystems.This paper takes the developments of sale management system under the environment of ERP as an example; discuss the real solution and some key technique. Real finished works are: Sale management system function design, structure design, UI design and logic design for foreground and background program. I have realized the sale management system under the three layers Clients/ Server architecture. Design ideas and realization ways of ERP discussed in this paper have many meanings to use for reference in some case.
