Development And Implementation Of A Shanghai General Motors Corporation Human Resources Management System

ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) has experienced four development steps since it's foundation in 1990. Nowadays, with the rapid development of information technology and the widely usage of information system, more and more enterprises over the world have recognized the great effect that the ERP system could bring. Based on the information technology, the ERP system could integrate the business process, basic data, human resource, software and hardware of computer. The ERP system could not only manage the human resource and finance, but also take good advantage of the resource, and improve the Competitiveness of the enterprise.Recently, as China joined WTO, ERP system also has a great development in China. Many big enterprises have requirement in information deliver, cost control, plan control, resource allocation, and begin to implement ERP system. However, there is a big gap between the ERP concept and the requirement of Chinese enterprise. So the customization on the ERP system is necessary when the Chinese enterprise implements the ERP system and architecture.This paper introduces the structure and the development process of PeopleSoft HRMS, which is a mature ERP product. After compare the classic ERP system, Shanghai General Motor which is the development background enterprise in this paper, decide to implement PeopleSoft as its human resource management system. This paper completes the design for company structure , the requirement of business process, the configuration of the human resource management system and the customization. At last, according to the detail design and implementation of time and labor module, this paper concludes the standardized processes, design methods and implementation techniques for domestic enterprises to design and complete the construction of its own ERP system rely on mature enteiprise resource management systems platform.
