After describing the actuality about wireless monitoring and the prospect of the applications about SMS (short message service) in measure and control system, this paper introduced a GSM module of asynchronism communication. Then designed a warning system applied to long-distance crossing-border monitoring.Center station based on PC and TC35i module, could transmit or receive short message by COM communication. Monitoring station watch the forbidden zone produced by a semiconductor infrared(IR) warning apparatus. CMOS chip AT89C52 incept the warning informations, then transmit out a warning mesagge by module TC35i.This paper summarized the GSM system and the protocol of SMS. Also the coding principles of message data and AT statements are introduced in detail.We endeavored to provide a comprehensive circumstance of hardware and software and then try to programing. The circuitries are depicted detailedly and the circuitry board of the center sysytem is experimented. A simple but applied program is accomplished using VC++. And an experiment about a made monitoring system is carried out, and the corresponding characters of the monitoring system designed in the paper were discussed also.Finally, the significance is briefed of this project, and the deficiencies are pointed out which is expected to be hurdled in succedent job.
