Nowadays, with the rapid development of our society, the electrical energy, which takes the central role in social developing, has become more and more important and the requirements towards it get higher day after day. To increase the stability and the reliability of power supply, there has been an urgent demand of enhancing the automation level of power distribution systems. The drawbacks of traditional DCS system (High integrity, Complex control circuit) have become our focus and draw a lot of attention. The appearance of Field Bus technology brought us new hopes and Field Industry Bus has become a hotspot in automation domain all over the world; this new technology, which involves the revolution in the entire industry of automation and measuring meters, causes the product comprehensive update, and has draw widely concern over the globe. It is the production of the automatic control technology, the network communication technology as well as the computer technology, etc. Field Bus technology enables information of field lever equipments to be the foundation of enterprise information network, and causes the acquisition and control of enterprise information to extend to the manufacturing scene. The use of Field Bus technology not only increases the communication ability and stability of a system, but decreases the cost of wiring and hardware during system setup, and makes it easier to carry out system management and maintenance. Field Bus systems use the distributed control system, distributing the units that have the ability of communication and measurements in the scene, thus greatly reduces the risk of system collapsing and simplifies the control circuit as well. At present the Field Bus technology has already obtained widespread development and application in various countries among electrical power systems; compared with traditional DCS system, the Field Bus system brings low cost, high reliability, and especially little maintenance. Field Bus technology has currently popularized to industrial application in each domain, the PROFIBUS and MODBUS field buses in particular are promoted to be the most successful ones in the industry domain.The data concentrator investigated in this paper, is a distributed SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.
