With the reform of Chinese telecommunication system, the entrance of WTO, and the incoming 3G tide, the competition in mobile telecommunication operation is becoming increasingly fiercer. The industry of mobile communication has more data about customers comparing with other industry. Who can mine and analyze the knowledge contained in the data correctly will offer product and service to customer better and find more opportunities, thus win the competition. Our domestic research on this field is still in its infancy, while overseas research has already been far ahead. Therefore, it is of great practical value in the research on data mining of our mobile telecommunication.This thesis mainly focuses on how to launch and use data mining to raise competitive advantage in terms of mobile telecommunication operation. It has some mention of data mining theory and the modeling method, etc. as well as the construction of data warehouse. However, it puts focal point on the choice and design of the data mining models. On the basis of some overseas studies and the actual needs of mobile telecommunication company, five data mining models of mobile telecommunication operation are proposed: Customer Value Model, Customer Retention Model, Fraud Detection Model, Customer segment Model and Best Promotion Method Model. An online survey system was set up to collect research data, and SAS Enterprise Miner was used to test and appraise these models.This thesis is expected to have an impetus to the using of data mining in our mobile telecommunication.
