Applications of data mining in customer retention in the mobile communicationindustry are discussed in this paper with focus on the design of data warehouse andselection of data mining models. Based on the existing research and the reality ofenterprises in our country, aiming at the concerning problems for the mobile operators,following the standard data mining process CRISP-DM (Cross-Industry StandardProcess for Data Mining), a customer churn model is proposed with detaileddiscussion on its design and modeling process.Practically, applications of data mining in telecommunications have greatly improvedthe hit rate and rate of return in the work of customer retention, showing greatpromise of economic value. It's helpful for customer retention, and provides thefoundation for telecommunication market research and competitor analysis. |
