In this paper, the research of remote monitoring system of container crane is the project of the Marine Simulation Center of Shanghai Maritime University, which is a key laboratory belonging to the Ministry of Communications. The Author hasparticipated in this project and written this paper as well. Container crane is one of the most important equipment in ports, and its workingcharacter is periodicity, intermittence and frequency. It moves cargos in the distance of several meters. Owing to these characters, the container crane must be required to work credibly and safely.Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is an important and available way applying to the system analysis in the field of reliability project. FTA can forecast failure of system, analyze weakness of system and optimize the system mostly. It can not only analyze the fault of system caused by single weakness, also fault caused by more than two components which malfunction synchronously. Failure diagnosing method based on FTA is an important embranchment of failure diagnosis based on reliability technique.This paper summarizes development of failure diagnosing technique and analyzes the structure of container crane and its electric control system firstly. Then the basic failure tree model is built according to character of container crane working. Through analyzing the failure tree, the computational model of container crane is established combining the theory of fault tree and credibility. An available method of looking up system failure which aims at the failure diagnosing system of container crane is put forward and examined as well. Meanwhile, the expert system Knowledge-date base of failure diagnosing of container crane based on Failure Tree Analysis is set up in this project.Applying Oriented Object Programming method to this project to develop...
