Design And Implementation Of Network Teaching Platform

Online Teaching and Learning Platform(OTLP), the technical foundation of Online Teaching and Learning, has been playing an increasingly important role in modernization of Higher Education. Through Online Education, a digital learning environment can be created to promote the reform of education conception, teaching content and method, enhance the quality and efficiency of teaching and education and improve learners' ability to survive and develop in the information society. Many Online Teaching and Learning Platform software packages have been designed and developed at home and abroad. However, Designing of Online Teaching and Learning Platform is still in the trial period, judged by their function and application effect.This paper introduces the developing trend and research on Online Teaching and Learning Platform, analyzes its existing problems and their causes, and completes the designing of a platform guided by modern education theories including Constructivism and Bloom Taxonomy. It aims at effective management and process control of Knowledge Domain, learning points and case study. While teacher focus on course design, students complete learning through task driven activities guided by teachers. With the tool of UML, a student-centered use case model of teaching and learning system is designed. According to software engineering theory, a series of designs are developed, such as overall system, database, data accessing layer, storage process, application data Foundation Class and common databases. The tools and environment, coding standard & criterion, login and registration, user and management limit, management of test and online testing, learning navigation are introduced. At last, problems in and prospect about platform development and application are put forward.This platform attempts to break the barriers between colleges, teachers and courses, explore the reconstruction of curriculum system and knowledge management and break the limits of traditional education notions and administration. It employs Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Microsoft Visual Studio, NET2005 and C#, which makes it advanced to a certain degree theoretically and technically.
