Research And Design Of The Video Case Management System Based On Metadata

With the development of information technology, Internet brings us the opportunity to learn more. Now Information Island is a problem that always troubles us. Because of many reasons such as different technologies, different saving ways,etc. , the interoperability between different systems seems not so well. In order to resolve the problems above, the world's standard-setting organizations made a series of meta-data standards, for example, SCORM and CELTS which has been made by china.Despite the application of meta-data standards can solve the problem of heterogeneous data, thereby sharing the educational resources. However, the study on how to use educational resources effectively is not just a technical problem.Therefore this paper, is about study on the Hypertext-Video Cases Management System based on meta-data, and its significance are in two aspects:First, meta-data standards solve the sharing of resources and the efficiency of Massive Data Query, improve the educational resources management.Second, teachers should not only focus on teaching, but also should learn from the experience of other teachers. Teachers can learn more knowledge, which is difficult to find words to describe, to promote teacher professional development.This system is based on SCORM standard and learning object data (LOM), and explanation of meta-data extraction, system design and development process. In this paper, the main contents include:1. Research on meta-data and standardsThis paper presents data collection should follow scientific, adaptability, and targeted principles. After doing two terms of questionnaire on using the Delphi method facing to 26 front line teachers who come from different schools, combining the opinion that come from the front line teachers on the metadata which describe the case of teaching, bring forward a suit of metadata which describe the case of teaching.2. Research on Hypertext-Video CasesIn this paper, the characteristics of a Hypertext-Video Cases was described, and in accordance with the method produced by professor Bao Jiansheng, make Hypertext-Video Cases to database.3. Management of structured data and unstructured dataMaking a relation between data and XML document by 《CELTS-4》 . It'll improve search efficiency and share level and solve heterogeneous data and un heterogeneous data's storing and visiting by metadata and XML technology.Ultimately, the system should have a good Interoperability, scalability, stability, and should be easy to operate.
