Virtual instrument technology is one of the most popular technologies which is applied in the area of measurement and control. As high-speed development of Internet, the fact that network measurement and control can be realized based on Internet. At present, embedded technology are extendly used in many application fields. Based on analysis of the relative technologies, a network measurement and control platform was accomplished in the thesis by virtual instrument technology and embedded technology.For solving some key issues about completion of the network measurement and control platform, these issues are separated to be discussed and completed by C/S architecture. At part of client, systemic analyzing virtual instrument technology, in order to build virtual instrument, software development environment for virtual instrument LabWindows/CVI is introduced. And then, to finish the client of this network measurement and control platform, the knowledge about using LabWindow/CVI to develop virtual instrument is presented and the network TCP library detailedly is explained. At part of server, beginning with embedded technology, several famous embedded systems are introduced, especially analyzing embedded Linux system applied in this thesis to present its advantages. Then, details about building an embedded Linux system step by step are introduced, mostly including developing bootloader, porting Linux kernel, building ramdisk and jffs2 file system, the knowledge of Linux device driver and so on. Programme of the control system and data acquisition system are finished. At last, finishing server programme of the embedded Linux system means that the completion of the whole network measurement and control platform.The platform is a part of network measurement and control lab, it is used to convert analog data to digital data and transfer these data to virtual instrument client in the Internet. The control part of the platform is used to control camera also.
