Basing on the extensive and embedded research on OFDM technology, this thesis presents a design to implement OFDM system referring IEEE802.16e standard on a modern platform of DSP and FPGA.The thesis firstly presents the general knowledge of OFDM including its development, key technologies, advantages and disadvantages, research merit and the international research level. Then, it does systematically research on the multi-carrier modulation technology and other key algorithms by simulating the OFDM system with MATLAB. Basing on the embedded theory research, it promotes an overall OFDM transmit system design based on the hardware platform of DSP and FPGA which involves module partition and interface design. The system implements its control function on TMS320VC5510 with DSP/BIOS tools while the designs of algorithm modules are based on ALTERA CycloneII EP2C70F896I8 FPGA. As the core technology of OFDM, FFT module is designed with the IP Core of which the interface follows ALTERA Atlantic protocol. In addition, the thesis implements the design of QAM, Cycle Prefix(CP), Hanning window and Pingpang buffer. At last, the thesis analysises the simulation results and validates the correctness of the designs.
