| The medium and small software enterprises have a great important role in Chinese software industry. But the lack of standardization management in the process of software design and development has restricted the competence in word software market. It is high time to study the process management and formulate the management standards for software development in medium and small software enterprises.Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), which developed on the basis of Capability Maturity Model (CMM), is the important production in current software process improvements field. CMMI includes the thoughts of TQM (total quality management), and provides standards for the process improvements of software companies. Different kinds of software companies could improvement level though SEI's CMMI appraisal.This dissertation studies Software Process Improvement Based-on CMMI in Medium and Small Software Enterprises though analysis of the development process of medium and small software enterprises in China.â‘ This dissertation introduces the concept of software process improvement, presents the theory frame and contents of CMM and CMMI, compare and analysis CMM and CMMI.
