Work ethics for journalism are the behavior criterions, monitoring relations between new propaganda and society, among news media institutions, and among journalists. Work ethics for journalism not only regulate and standardize the news media and its staff members, but also exert great influences to the moral orientation in the whole society. The penetration of Reform and Opening-up and the acceleration of economic globalization bring effects to journalism of our country in many aspects: on the one hand, with transformation of Chinese society and advance of journalistic reform, which jointly facilitate the exchanges and development of journalistic activities, news media begin to develop more self-conscious ethic awareness and sense of responsibility; on the other hand, in the course of China's economic development, some journalists can't resist the temptation and impact of fame and wealth. Their value view and life ideal become severely distorted, and their personal interests go above the interests of the state and the public. Incidents which infringe work ethics for journalism occasionally occur. These phenomena not only misdirect news propaganda of socialist countries, but also debase the creditability of mass media in public and lower the reliability of mass media. Thereby, we should strengthen the education on work ethics for journalism, scrupulously abide by the principles and criterion of work ethics for journalism, and build up a fairly good image of news propaganda. This thesis starts with the expatiation of the historical development and basic principles of work ethics for journalism; it then goes to analyze the challenges with which the construction of work ethics of journalism in our country has to cope in the face of economic globalization and market economy, and continues to bring up requirements of its construction against this general background; in succession, it further explores the problems that exist in work ethics for journalism in our country of the New Era, and tries to trace the causes of those problems; in conclusion, it comes up with the contents, principles, means and approaches of education of work ethics for journalism, in the hope of making a personal effort to enhance the work ethics of journalists in our country.
