With the rapid development of science and technology, the Education Ministry has initiated a curriculum reformational project, encouraging students to get used to the studying style of working independently, inquiring into unfamiliar fields and having more practice,. This studing style helps students get into the habit of collecting and processing information, refine their abilities to acquire new knowledge, to analyze and solve problems, to communicate and cooperate with each other. In order to assist students as well as teachers to get familiar with the curriculum reformational project, I built up a chemistry study system by multi-media for students in Grade 9. This study system helps students get rid of passive and mechanical approaches in studying; and form a voluntary, active and independent approach instead. The designing ideas are based on the academic theories of Constructionism, Information processing, and Austria Soviet Bell Righteousness. This system is oriented towards enhancing students' ability of self-motivated study, focusing on both the students' acquisition capability, and their study process. The specific designing process involves the following stages:First of all, data collection.Secondly, database construction.Thirdly, establishment of the Navigation of study objectivesThis system offers easy access through various kinds of index, such as subject classified index, the concept and principle index, the material classified index, and the experiment index in order to satisfy different interests and needs. Students may select the most appropriate method which they enjoy and decide on the study orientation. With clear goals in minds, students may keep track of their own performances and adjust their strategies in time, so that they could build up their own unique information structures and develop their own study approaches.Fourthly, establishment of the knowledge structure(1) Organization of content for each unit.Connect various knowledge points in relation to certain themes pertaining to various units and draw up a floor plan..(2) The links between knowledge pointsThe system sets up more than 7,200 links, from unit knowledge to its highlights, from one highlight to another, which enables students to trace down a wide range of connections, and helps them form a flexible, sound study structure. It is believed that three-dimensional perception and network would help refine students' self-study ability.Fifthly, establishment of the self-evaluationThe system provides key answers to each exercise with which students could promptly find out their strengths and weaknesses, and in no time make up for their wrong concepts or interpretations of relevant knowledge.
