As the developing of Internet and the rush of various applications over the net, the quality of service (QoS) has been receiving an unprecedented concern. Researchers cognized that it couldn't resolve the problems about quality of service completely merely by widening the bandwidth. Owing to this situation, multiple solutions appear currently, which includes DiffServe model, IntServ model, MPLS model and so on. As a pivotal part of networks, routers'performance will affect the quality of service of the whole network directly. The distributed parallel multi-port router system developed by 8010 research-room has the characteristics of high performance, high reliability, high scalability and low price, which is based on Linux operation system software platform and X86 general-using hardware platform .To improve the quality of service and the reliability of the system , the load balance of its multiple ports should be concerned carefully. At the same time, it is requested to assure the usability of the router system when the management of users'priority is performing. The technical index of the quality of service and the actuality of research on router system are analyzed firstly in this thesis, and then it optimize the algorithm of the port select to improve the quality of service and the performance of the system. This thesis also details the management of the users'priority running on this router system, including its key technique and its solutions, which might has some illuminations to other management of QoS based on priority-queue.
