In the traditional television-broadcasting field, the TV programs are saved in the cassettes with the analog signal mode and the cassettes'abrasion is caused by over used, so the signals on them will become weaken and even lost, finally leading to broadcasting error. On the other hand, in the real-time cassette broadcasting system, there is lots of complex work, so the device faults and man-made mistakes frequently happen, sometime those mistakes cause broadcasting procedure stopped, bringing lots of lost. So it is impossible to get a stable broadcasting system using the old cassette broadcasting system.Under the background of the development of computer technique, multi-media technique, high capacity storage technique and decoding card, the digital broadcasting system appears, taking the video server as the key component. The new system provide the TV stations a high performance, stability, resource-sharing,easy manipulation broadcasting system, overcoming most of the disadvantages that appear in the traditional cassette broadcasting system. The video server, a kind of digital device specially used for displaying program, can display TV programs automatically according to the orders recived. In this paper, to construct a high stability digital broadcasting system, we design and implement a king of multi-channel broadcasting video server system, at last we advice an applying environment using our video server.This thesis presents a kind of multi-channel broadcasting video server system. First, we analysis the functions of the video server and summarize the whole design scheme of the video server. Second we particularly analysis every important module's realization, and construct a video server software architecture using the modules. At last we introduce the configuration of a video server applying environment and complete the system function test and stability test in this environment. The test results indicate that the video server system realized has fulfilled the requests of our design.
