Workflow technology is a key technology to enterprise business process model- ing, simulating, optimizing, management and integration, for the purpose of realizing business process automation. The research and application of workflow technology has great significance to enterpises. As the fast e-business development in Internet, traditional workflow management systems (WfMS) can't meet the requirement of modern business process management any more. They don't provide enough support to dynamic and inter-organization business processes because lacking agility and interoperability. Our solution is to introduce one of the latest technology—Web Services to improve WfMS performance. Web Services-based workflow management has dynamic and interoperation features, it invokes and controls business activities to make the communication among the business activities in the Internet easier and more convenient. The Web Services-based WfMS is put forward to satisfy the new dema- nds of modern enterprises for workflow management information system.BPEL4WS is a specification which is submitted by IBM, BEA, Microsoft and others. On the viewpoint of business process, the aim of BPEL4WS is integrating Web Services in the Web. There was a few of WfMS which supported BPEL4WS Specification and it only provided by some companies.The author brings forward a framework and implementation of workflow management systems which supports BPEL4WS Specification.Whereas the advantages of JMX in managing resources, this thesis presents a new technique which is applied JMX to workflow resource management. It presents the definition of workflow resource firstly, and compares all the MBeans. As the attribute of workflow resource, we define each workflow resource as a dynamic MBean. It manages remote resource by the HTML Adapter. Lastly, this thesis gives the implementation on specified workflow engine and application server.Managing number of roles effectively is a formidable task in RBAC.
