As an important database of CDMA moving communication system, Home Location Register system(HLR) mainly stores and affords the locations of moving terminal users and supplies scrvice information. In a word, it is the core of the information recorded in the system. As a result, there is a high demand on the reliability of this system. Traditionally, the components of the HLR system are connected by local Ethernet network, and the transaction processing component need to get the user's information from database component by this local Ethernet network. Therefore, the problem of local Ethernet network, e.g. networks congestion and virus, will have great negative affection on the performance of the whole system. To avoid such negative affection, a more reliable scheme which could handle such problem is needed. Addressing the real-time and reliable requirement of HLR system in a mobile telecommunication system, this paper proposes an HLR system scheme which considers MMDB as its main memory while DRDB as its standby. One of the difficult points of this design is to keep the data coherent within the MMDB and DRDB. Therefore, we design a synchronization process which is used to manage the data flow between the MMDB and DRDB.This paper gives the key points of our design. The main characters of the design are summarized as follow:1. Each MMDB module is mapped with a data buffer which is used to track the unsynchronized record. When system uploads the data to the MMDB, our system will adopt the round-robin fashion to distribute the data to each module, thus could effectively reduce the load of the foreground system.2. Data transmission adopts the handshaking message fashion to guarantee the reliability of data.3. When system uploads the data to the MMDB, we design a temp buffer to store the multi-packet data. Only all the packets belong to one record are correctly received could write this record into MMDB. This measure could guarantee the integrality of the data.
