Sichuan Telecom Phs Phs Province Roaming Network Research Projects

As the PHS (Personal Handy Phone System) (commonly known as "Xiao Ling Tong" has characteristics of mobile, low telecommunication cost and environmentally friendly, it has become the most popular wireless access system.However, with the growth of number of PHS users in the wireless municipal market, its mobile service positioning with local access functions can no longer satisfy the market demand, and the users are urgently hoping that the PHS can have access like the international roaming services for GSM/CDMA users. On the other hand, with the escalating competition in the telecommunication market, the low-communication-fee strategy for PHS has no further advantages. Sichuan Telecom has to rely on its good telecommunication quality and more competitive and value-added service to stabilize the old users and attract the new ones so as to ensure the sustainable development of the PHS business. Therefore the realization of roaming service for PHS in a short period within province will be crucial to the development of PHS in the next two year for Sichuan Telecom.Due to historical reasons, the equipments adopted in various PHS local network in Sichuan Telecom differ, the inter-connection protocols between service providers vary too and the access parameters in the local network are not standardized, therefore in order to accomplish provincial roaming, the aforesaid problems must be overcome. This research is focused on how to achieve link-up of local PHS systems in various provinces on the basis of a thorough investigation and understanding of the current Sichuan Telecom network. The contents of the subject matters are as follows:The structure of the "Personal Handy Phone Service" is divided into two sections, one is the core network and the other is the wireless network. The core network is to link up the upper layer networks or other business networks, whilst the wireless network is responsible for the business coverage.
