As a new information technology rising in the20th century, virtual reality is widely used in many defferent fields, such as digital city, venue simulation, real estate roaming etc. As a new kind of technology and propaganda means, virtual reality can make the audience’s experience more intuitive, resulting in more effectivity of propaganda. Using virtual reality technology in the3D virtual campus plays a very important role in the external propaganda, admissions, exhibition of school appearance etc of the school. Virtual reality is an important component in the campus informationization construction.Based on the analysis of domestic and international development and application situation of virtual reality technology, and considering the specific features of TOP campus, an3D campus roaming system is designed. The scene roaming and interactive control function are realized.This thesis firstly analyzes the demand of system, determines the function requiements of the virtual campus. The overall design of the virtual compus is perfomed.Second, the thesis focusses on the study of various physical modeling methods of varous entities of the virtual campus. The veins and pasting picture, lamplight and scene optimization technique of the model is discussed in detail. Third, interaction programming, system roaming collision detection and the use of multithread in roaming are studied. Fourth, the realization of the system is detailly discussion, focus on the file scheduling techniques based on XML. finally, the results of the test of realized effect show that becides the complexity of the model and the beautity, most of the system is ideal. In some degree, it demonstrates the feasibility and practicability of the virtual campus roaming based on Ogre and c++.Based on the development experience and the backdraws of the system, the future work is simple prospect.
