Millimeter-wave dielectric lens antenna is a kind of aperture antenna with high directivity. It has some important advantages such as wide angle scanning, beam shaping, compact structure and low cost. There have been emerging applications in Blind Landing and Automobile Collision Avoidance Radar. In this dissertation, the mm-wave dielectric lens antenna has been deeply researched. The dissertation mainly contains the following aspects:i) The basic principle and analytical method of the lens antenna are discussedand summarized in the necessary optimum parameters of antenna, ii) Introduced the characteristic variety regulation of the TSA and the lensantenna structure that can produce fan-beam.iii) Ray tracing techniques are used to calculate the efficiency and far-field radiation properties of Hyperbolic lens and Meniscus lens. The calculation result agrees very well with the simulation result, but the ray tracing techniques can save more time and memory than HFSS.iv) Ray tracing techniques are used to calculate the efficiency and far-field radiation properties of Homogenous spherical lens antenna and cylindrical lens antenna, and the cylindrical lens antenna is simulated by HFSS, The simulation agrees very well with the calculation.
