With the fast development of Electronics Science and Technology, fan beam antenna has been widely adopted in various applications among different disciplines, such as medical imaging, mobile communication station, indoor local area wireless network and so on. Meanwhile It is more and more popular that fan beam millimeter wave in vehicle mounted and airborne anti-collision antenna becomes the core component of the car and Small craft safety control system. Hence there is of great value to study how to design a high performance fan beam antenna. The works are carried out in this paper as follows:1. On the basis of previous studies, we have inquired into three kind of common ways to Synthesis fan beam antenna, Analyzed and summarized the fan beam parabolic antenna,synthetic fan beam dielectric lens antenna and the synthetic fan beam antenna by antenna array etc, And mainly introduced the technique of synthesis fan beam we need by dielectric lens. Meanwhile the principle, especially the difference between fan beam antenna and pencil beam antenna in beam scanning was analyzed and discussed.2. Based on transformation optics theory, we have studied the meta-material applications in control the electromagnetic wave propagation direction. Validation of maxwell’s equation are form invariant under any coordinate transformation, and baced on quasi-conformal transformation optics to calculate the permittivity and the permeability of transform medium material. At last By introducing two kinds of transform medium lens such as transform medium Plano-concave lens and a transform medium flat lens which composed by different permittivity dielectric unit, to achieve the conventional hyperbolic dielectric lens and accelerate the plane concave lens equivalent conversion respectively, to realize the control of incident electromagnetic wave propagation.3.We have designed two novel kinds of three dimensional structures barrel-vault transform dielectric lens which working on Ku-band to synthesis the fan beam antenna which baced on quasi-conformal transformation optics. Through the full wave simulation analysis, the result displayed these both of the novel transform dielectric lens can function smoothly in at entire Ku-band frequency range to synthesis the fan beam in far-field, meanwhile both of the barrel-vault lenses have greatly improved the radiationdirectivity of the feed antenna. By simulation analysis the beam steering ability at entire Ku-band frequency range,we have find that under the condition of don’t move the lens, it is convenient to control the fast beam scanning which go through the dielectric lens in an Angle range,As long as through a small distance in horizontal offset of feed which located in the transformation of dielectric lens focus.
