The Simulation of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system is an important method for design and performance analysis of radar system. On the other hand, the distributed simulation system based on High Level Architecture (HLA), which has been established as an open and international IEEE standard, has a good performance on reusability and interoperability. So the research on the distributed simulation of SAR system based on HLA has an important practical significance.In this dissertation, based on the research of many literatures of airborne SAR system and HLA technique, a set of distributed simulation software of airborne SAR system is extensively studied.The main content of this dissertation is as follows:1. As the background of this dissertation, the development history of distributed interactive simulation system and SAR system simulation is introduced.2. The principle of SAR high resolution is discussed from systematic point of view, including a raw data model of stripmap SAR, image arithmetic, and SAR system coefficients'design.3. Some basic conceptions of HLA is introduced, including RTI, OMT, FEDEP model, federation management, declaration management and time management, which are used in this thesis.4. The design flow of the distributed simulation system of airborne SAR is dicussed. Analyse the development of two important federates, Echo Producer and Signal Processor, point out the difficulties in design, such as disassemble of calculation, communication of federates, time management, and explain the solutions in details.
