With the IP development and mature, IP have been extensively introduced into traditional telecom network.And Traditional service based on Circuit-switch in traditional telecom network gradually relpaced by service based on Packet-switch. Also both Softswitch system structure and 3G communication system are based on IP-based Packet-switch,Signaling Gateway as a important part in SoftSwitch network ,play a role of transfering SS7 signal message from SS7 signaling network to IP-based Packet-switch network.Firstly this paper introduce the development of telecom network and signaling transfer,and discussing the four layer structure of Softswitch network;based on this ,educing the background of Signaling Gateway in next-generation-network; also describes the SS7 Signalling Gateway structure, function and characteristic and protocol module;then analyse the high availability implementation of Signalling Gateway .This dissertation focus on the Load Balancing of Signaling Gateway, mainly inculde two part: in First part, considered Trillium DFT architecture,the dissertation presents a scheme suited for Signaling Gateway, involving software design and implement of M3UA Distributed module DF and MTP3 Distibuted module LDF; the second part presents the design details of M3UA and MTP3 protocol themselves Load Balancing mechanism.At the end of this dissertation ,a performance test result of based on Load Balancing Signaling Gateway are given. The test result indicates this kind of Signaling Gateway fulfils the technical index of Signaling Gateway test specification ultimately.The major meaning provided in this paper is that it provides a Load Balancing Design Scheme about Signaling Gateway ,involving protocol side and protocol itself,complet the integration of Trillium Distributed strategy and Signaling Gateway.This Load Banlacing Design has a general framework that is independent from the actual protocol stack,and can give a reference to Load Balancing Design of telcom software product as well.
