Web-based Service Discovery Mechanism

With the rapid progress of Internet, the web services increase sharply. How tofind the needed service or how to gain the best service from the vast service sets,which become an important problem. That is the tasks of service discovery.Traditional technique is based grammar description, combining UDDI and WSDL,and finds the service by key words. Because of lacking a semantic informationdescription, this web service discovery makes for low recall ratio and precision ratiowhich can't satisfy users.Semantic web is an emerging direction of web evolution, and it hammers at thesemantization of web information . And web service provides web application to userswith the form of service, and hides the details of its realization. Semantic web serviceaims to add semantic information to web service, which can be understanded andmanaged by computers. Semantic web service discovery become studying hotspotstoday.The main research works I do are as follows : the knowledge about web service,service discovery and semantic web will be introduced allsided, including the latestprogress. After analyzing the disavantage of traditional methods, in web servicedescription, the thesis applies a strategy of extending UDDI and WSDL making use ofOntology and OWL-S, and gives a strategy in service matching, finally, presentsmatching algorithm . It increases search efficiency.In a word, based on semantic web and Ontology technology, the modifiedstrategy can speed up the discovery of services . Servive discovery is essential toservices systems, so we must do further researches to build convenient servicediscovery.
