With the great development of space technology, the range of people's activity has expanded into outer space. Meanwhile, our ability ofresearching and utilizing outer space is also qualitatively enhanced. Forinstance, we can research and improve the production craft ofsemiconducting material and alloy with the experiments in themicrogravity environment of outer space. The exploration, research andutilization need the support of powerful, efficient, high reliablesystems and devices. For example, a platform has the function of dataacquisition, data processing, data transfer and sequential control, andso on. These systems are usually embedded systems. Compared with normal embedded systems, the aerospace embedded systemshave a lot of difference. It is mainly summarized as follows: highreal-time, bad working environment, high degree of accuracy, long life. In view of the difference above, and the demand of a space scienceexperiment assistant system embarked on a recoverable satellite, thedesign and development of the embedded system which is based on Intel386EXprocessor, and controls the space science experiments is completed, withsome achievements used for reference. The detailed work is as follow: I complete the design of the hardware cooperating with other partnersin the project group. Especially, the important chips are selected andanalyzed. The hardware structure is analyzed and designed in respect ofreliability enhancement. Some theories and methods are used here. Forinstance, redundancy pattern, watchdog, and so on. When the software demand analysis and general design are carriedthrough, macro assembly language is used under the real mode of Intel386EXprocessor to develop the software. TRACE32 is used to debug the softwareand hardware. The multi-interrupt schedule strategy is designed. The logof system is set up, cooperating with the process of program controlinstructions and remote control instructions. These methods enhance thereliability of the whole system efficiently。The embedded system has been examined in software testing, hardwaretesting, environment-simulating experiments, flight-simulatingexperiments. It works good, with excellent performance and reliablefunctions. The demand is fully met. The theories and methods are worthbeing used in other similar work.
