In a traditional IT architecture, the flexibility of modern enterprise faces with many challenges, which mainly embody following several aspects: The application is bound in the fixed platform;each application has the different platform;each application environment must be constructed according to the heaviest load which is estimated, each other only has lower or does not have the resources to share;With the reason of history, the computing environment of enterprise is usually distributed, isolated, heterogeneous. The resource does not be managed in unified way, and not be deployed dynamically.Facing above questions, in the paper, we studied the high availability system, through virtualization technology, the infrastructure turns virtualization from physics, and the IT infrastructure turned into a virtual resources pond. On the basis of it, we discussed and designed an Autonomic Computing model, and constructed an IT resource management system which realized the features of "Integration", "Open", "Autonomic" and "Virtualization", and realized the computer system with high-availability and the self-management. I take part in the research and development of the VOES with high availability and virtualization management. My research and development which I take part in the VOES group are listed as follows:1. The design of resource management framework: In order to unify the management of computing resources, in VOE, we use the standard of WBEM(Web-Based Enterprise Management), design and realize a resource management framework with the features of "open" , "Integration" and flexibility of resource management.2. The design of Autonomic Computing Model: In order to realize the features of Self-Configuring, Self-Healing, Self-Optimizing and Self-Protecting of autonomic computing, we design and realize an Autonomic Computing model in the VOE.3. The design of resource virtualization: We use the logical partition technologies and Autonomic computing technologies to realize dynamic configuration and Self-Management of computing resources.
