Intelligent Home Gateway Based On Embedded Systems Research

The goal of modern smart home is to improve the quality of home life using modern electronic technology, communication technology, computer & network technology, and make home life become comfortable, safe and full of happiness. As the administrant role in the system of Smart Home, Home Gateway determines the level of the Home Network. In this paper, the main content is the research of Smart Home Gateway based on the 32-bit ARM and embedded real-time operation. Considering the stability and expansibility, the system adopts the embedded real-time operating system uC/OS-II and the ARM processor of LPC2200, an advanced 32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor. It describes a whole structure of Smart Home Network directed at Intelligent Community, and then discusses the process of the transplant of the operating system, the design of the drivers. It expatiates the realization of embedded TCP/IP protocol and researches on how to achieve the monitor of the home network by using protocol.This paper is divided into seven part. In the first part, discuss the background, content and task of the item and give an arrangement of this paper. In the second part, analyze some general network technology and give some advice of the buildup of home network. In the third part, describe a system structure of the Smart Home, and expatiate the design of the gateway. In the fourth part, introduce the hardware background of the system. In the fifth part, describe the transplant of the uC/OS-II into ARM and the design of the drivers and discuss the design of Multi-tasks application program. And then expatiate the research of the embedded TCP/IP protocol under the uC/OS-II operating system, and give a method of home net work monitor. In the last part, conclude the research and give the experience of this item.
